It started with a humming.

Aloy had been hard at work refurbishing the house's computer systems, and then a tune came to her. She didn't recognize it, but it also didn't get in the way, so it hardly drifted to the top of her priority list.

"...Work it, make it, do it, makes us..."

Okay, that was odd. She tried to put past it. Had to focus on this motherboard, or she could fry the whole set-up--

"Harder, better, faster, stronger..."

She leaned back on her heels, blinking. "Work it harder, make it better, do it faster, makes us stronger, more than ever, hour after hour, work is never over--."

She threw down her tools. "Now what?" Annoying.

Sorry, Fandom. After several weeks of relative quiet in 4 Apocalypse, Aloy was... trying things again, with the computer system they had running now. Trying things that involved setting up a power grid on the ground floor, and since she wanted to make sure there was as little space between her new grid and her power source while she was testing it...

...the Sunwing was standing in the middle of the road, not far from her door, its solar panel wings firmly outstretched. The door was open, thick cables keeping it from slamming shut.

And she was in the hallway, meticulously fitting metal panels and circuitry into a very large hole in the wall.

Oh well.

There were things rolling around outside Aloy's newfound home. Things that, as she'd quickly found out, weren't particularly friendly.

She had discovered this while heading up to the castle to pick up Beta. She'd been careful, on the way back. And even now, as she closed the door behind them, Aloy couldn't help but lean back out--

--and fire three arrows into approaching ticklemonsters.

"I wish I could say this was new."

[[ primarily for beta, but can be open for anyone else who wants to knock on Aloy's door after ]]

Getting a place to live in Fandom as an adult was almost as easy as Aloy remembered it being when she'd been a student. She'd walked up to Town Hall and asked about residences, and with just a promise that she'd get a job 'at some point in the near future so she could pay rent', they'd given her a key and directed her here.

Maybe if she'd been a woman from this time, she would have acknowledged that it didn't look fully like a home. The downstairs had been an office, and before that a gallery, and held that sense of a space meant for something else.

But Aloy wasn't a woman from this time. It was a place, with plenty of space, and a bed in the upstairs area that was about as comfortable as their base at home. She directed the Sunwing to the roof to recharge, and dropped her pack in the room with the bed.

Lots of space. Empty space, with just a sparse amount of furniture. Perfect.

She reached up for her Focus to inform Beta of her whereabouts.

"Right," she muttered, when that was done. "I think I can work with this."

[[ could be open if you're in the mood to go knocking on the doors of houses with large metal bird-dinosaurs sitting on top of them. ]]
